I love that this is pure olive oil and traceable to the origin. Olive oil in the US is mostly a rip-off and not real olive oil. It was delicious and reasonably priced for the real deal!
I have lived in Greece for 3 years in the 80's. Greek olive oil is light, fresh, tasty, great for cooking, salads, dips. This oil from Ellora is all that and more. You can taste the love and care they put into their products , Greek sunshine in a bottle! What are you waiting for, buy a bottle!
This the second of many more orders of this exemplary product. I even ordered 2 extra for gifts. As I stated before this is Tuscan quality at bargain price.
Ellora Farms Extra Virgin Olive Oil heightens the taste of salads and is fantastic for dipping sauces. This product is not over-bearing as some olive oil is. Let me say this: I bought the two-pack, which by the way was packaged very well, and gave one to a friend and then ordered another one to send to a family member. They called to give me copious thanks and marveled at the wonderful aroma and taste. Buy it, you'll like it.
My wife bought this as a special gift for me. I am an olive oil snob, I admit it. I had read that this brand was one of the best you can buy, and I agree with that statement. It's positively LUSH, FRAGRANT, and FRUITY. I won't use it for cooking, but for drizzling on just about everything, definitely. For dipping, oh, yes. Tried it drizzled over a Greek salad and I was in olive oil Heaven. It's not something we can afford every day, but it's one of the best gifts my wife ever gave me. If I had 10 thumbs, they would all be UP. Packed very securely and shipped promptly.
The best extra virgin olive oil I have had in at least 10 years. The way you test the quality of evoo is to put it on a spoon and slurp it like soup. Really loud and airy. The best oil will cause an irritation at the back of your throat when you do this. The very best will make you cough. This is how it's done. Ellora Farms is a "3 cough" olive oil. Highly potent and fresh. The grassy aroma and taste says enough about it on it's own. Best of all, it comes in a tin, so you can be sure it has not experienced any light exposure and it's still at it's peak of freshness with every use. Put it on a salad. Mix it with minced garlic for anything you would normally use garlic butter for. Or drink it straight out of the tin! (Make sure nobody's watching...lol). You're gonna love this oil.
Long ago I decided to never go cheap on EVOO. Since then I tried many different varieties, recommended by renown chefs and experts, from retailers and online sources. I tried extra virgin olive oils from Spain and Tunisia, from Italy and Greece, from California ... This oil from Ellora Farms caught my attention because of good feedback and recommendations. I'm glad I order it. The taste is very smooth, albeit pretty light, not full body. It tastes amazing in my favorite veggy salads, and as marinade for delicate fish, steaks or lamb chops. It goes very well with freshly baked bread ... I'll definitely order it again, though I'm not completely switching to use it exclusively (sometimes I'd like to have more peppery and full body taste) ...
